A scene I have had in my mind for a good 4 years now. I wanted to depict the 13 dwarves and Mr. Lucky number from the Shire in the townhall of Laketown, starting to stretch the good people´s patience and gratitude thin with their feasting, an archer (Bard) watching them. One major influence to be found in this watercolour (55*70 cm on 400gr/m² Hahnemühle paper) was Pieter Breughel´s famous "Bruiloftsmaal". Many things changed in this new composition though there are some destinct references to be spotted for the art lovers out there.
For the people who have trouble following my description of the scene: Give yourself a treat and read "The Hobbit" by one J.R.R. Tolkien.
